Welcome to the Delta Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Southeast Missouri State University! Alpha Delta Pi is one of seven sororities at SEMO. On May 15, 1851, Alpha Delta Pi was founded as the first secret society for women at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Southeast Missouri State University’s Delta Nu chapter was founded in 1959. Alpha Delta Pi is committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We are proud to be a part of one of the nation’s most active Greek communities, and we hope our website will serve as a way to peek into what it means to be an Alpha Delta Pi.
SEMO Class of 2024, sign up for recruitment here!
Hello! My name is Jill Grimshaw and I have the honor of serving as the President of Alpha Delta Pi here at Southeast Missouri State University.
Being President, I get to oversee chapter operations and represent our chapter for our university and nationally through Alpha Delta Pi Executive Office. I also work on maintaining our relationships with fellow Greek organizations and all other organizations on campus.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and came to SEMO without any friends from high school. I was always one to be involved in high school; I enjoyed playing sports and being a part of student council. Due to this, I knew I wanted to get involved and be a part of something bigger than myself in college. Other members of my family had been Greek, and I knew the impact it had on their life. I loved the idea of joining an organization for the betterment of myself and the community around me. During recruitment, I went in with an open mind because I wanted to get to know as many girls as I could. I was able to form great relationships with women from all chapters, but something special about Alpha Delta Pi kept drawing me back. Every night walking into Alpha Delta Pi, I was able to take a breath and be completely myself. I was able to have silly conversations while still having very genuine conversations with girls I had met. They made me feel so comfortable so quickly.
Fast forward to my senior year, and I can honestly say that this chapter has pushed me to work hard and be the best version of myself daily. My sisters encourage me to be selfless, keep me accountable for my schoolwork, and are the people I turn to in the hardest times of life and in the happiest times. My sisters give me motivation everyday and inspire me to keep challenging myself.
Alpha Delta Pi has given me friends that will last a lifetime. These friends have shown me what it truly means to live for each other. On behalf of our chapter, we are so excited to welcome home a new class into our lifelong sisterhood this fall. When you choose Alpha Delta Pi, know that you are choosing much more than a few years of college with some friends, you are choosing a lifelong sisterhood with women that will inspire you forever. We cannot wait to meet you all!
