Alpha Delta Pi’s Vice President of Event Management, Abby Stebner, and Event Management Assistant, Hannah Hickerson, plan and execute many fun events for our chapter throughout the year! Each fall semester, we have a semi-formal called “Violets.” Each spring, we have a date party called “Mallard Ball” and a formal called “Black Diamond.” Along with these formals, we hold events like Mom’s Day, Dad’s Day, and other fun-themed functions! We also have various social events with different fraternities and sororities throughout the year. Scroll to read more about our different social events!
Violet’s is our semi-formal held in the fall semester, typically in November or December. It’s fun to get dressed up with sisters and celebrate the end of the semester! Last year, Violet’s was held at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Black Diamond is our end of the year formal. At this formal, we celebrate the seniors by wearing black and white while the seniors wear a color. We receive sashes from our Alpha Class and also vote for superlatives. in the past, the event has been held at Rusted Route Farms.
Mom’s Day is an event where we invite our mom’s to experience ADPi and meet our sisters! This past year, we celebrated mom’s day with a tailgate before a Redhawk football game. In the past, we have made wreaths, went to pumpkin patches, or went to wineries with our Mom’s.
Dad’s Day is a day that our chapter looks forward to each year. It is a day that we invite our dad’s to Cape for some fun! We typically have a tailgating event for a Redhawk baseball game complete with hotdogs, cornhole, and more!
Along with our Galentine’s Day sisterhood event, we like to get dressed up in red and pink around Valentine’s Day complete with heart shaped name tags and our sisters. It is always lots of fun!
Whether it’s football or baseball, our sisters love showing up and supporting our Redhawks! Gameday is always a fun day in Cape Girardeau, and our sisters enjoy all that they can of it!
Our chapter also enjoys having socials with other chapters. We have carved pumpkins, made Christmas cookies, had barbecues, and held events with fun themes like 80’s in Aspen. We love connecting with other members of the Greek community!
