Living Our Oath & Anti-Hazing

Live Your Oath

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April, Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Phi Epsilon partner on the Live Your Oath Campaign. This campaign focuses on the understanding that living our membership oaths includes engaging in actions to prevent sexual assault and create healthier, safer chapters and campuses. Said simply, it’s one thing to take an oath, it’s another thing to live your oath.

Delta Nu pledges to live our oath of membership by actively working to prevent violence.
We will work to stop sexual violence if we see it in our chapter, report concerning behaviors happening in my community, and educate myself and others on how to create a safe sisterhood.

Walk-A Mile

Walk-a-Mile is an event held during Greek Week that the entire Greek Community participates in. This event is held to raise awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault. During this event, men in the Southeast campus community wear high heels and walk a mile around campus while the rest of the community follows. Alpha Delta Pi is proud to participate in this event that raises awareness of an issue so important to us all.

Stop the Hazing

In 2017, Alpha Delta Pi sister Rae Ann Gruver and her husband Steve lost their son to
a hazing incident at Louisiana State University. Since Max’s death, Steve and Rae Ann
have traveled across the country sharing Max’s story. This year, Alpha Delta Pi, the
Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, and the Max Gruver Foundation once again partner for our annual
Stop the Hazing campaign.

Delta Nu pledges to promote a healthier, safer culture free of hazing on our campus. We
will work to stop hazing if we see it in our chapter, report concerning behaviors happening in our community, and educate ourselves and others on the negative impact of hazing.

During National Hazing Prevention Week, we share Max’s story and spread awareness on our campus. One of the many ways we do this is by signing and sharing our pledge cards.
